Rubato Kitchen & Bar

Left my lesson at the 3hr mark because staying for another 3hrs will not help me so I rang my saviour up and told him I was starving and I was already out of class. I would gladly grab a bite in school but it was SUNDAY. Nothing was opened fml. WHY SIM WHY? Why do you allow the UK lecturers to conduct lessons on a SUNDAY. He then asked me to think of what I wanted to eat, I immediately replied liu sha bao @ vivo but he said it was too far -_- THEN YOU DON'T ASK ME TO THINK LA!

Was looking for places with nice dimsum on my phone when he picked me, he then told me "I bring you to this place". FINALLY, SOME INITIATION. You can imagine how flustered I was because I was hungry and I had to think of where to eat and it was so warm?!?!?! Hahaha do I sound bratty oops. I'm not like that most of the time, and you should know you shouldn't mess with someone who is deprived of food.

It was a rather short drive from school to where he was bringing me to, maybe 5mins? Found parking almost immediately and I was so happy lol. All that was going through my mind was FOOOOOD.

The place he wanted to bring me to didn't appeal to me as much as the one we eventually went to hahaha. The place he suggested was pizza and beer but nahhh, didn't have feel for pizza. Walked a little more and saw another restaurant. Flipped the menu and I saw Squid Ink Pasta. I looked at Lester and said I have to try this. LOL can you imagine how authoritative I sounded (don't judge k, don't forget I'm really hungry).

So where did we have our lunch at??

I took this photo after ordering so don't go thinking shehungryshestillcantakephotoofmenufirstmeh??

Actually I chose this place because it looks really cozy (lots of woody furnishings) and if it already looks so appealing in the day, it will definitely be as amazing at night. Snapped some pictures of the interior! I kept reminding myself to take the exterior before we left but still... I forgot tsk.

Look at that bar hahaha. I don't mind spending the whole night at the bar counter.

Now, food. Don't scroll anymore if you've not had food because I guarantee you'll start salivating hehehe.

Wild Mushroom Soup
Signature Charcoal Grilled Squid
Squid Ink Pasta
Seafood(?) Aglio Olio

Lester ordered a pint Weihenstephan (yes, no pic bec I'm busy engulfing mah pasta)

I seriously need to write down what we order because I can never remember the name of the stuff we ordered now tsk.

Lester foot the bill (HEHE) because it was our anniversary. But I did promise to buy him dinner/drinks ok. Time flies. It has been 20 months with this person. Sure there're bad times but I'm thankful we pulled it through ^^

Verdict: 7/10
The food is GOOD. But if they did something about t/he air-conditioning (it was too cold, my pasta turned cold pretty fast and became jelat), I'd give it a 8/10. I would say there's nothing much to the squid ink pasta, probably giving the person whom you're dining with a good laugh at your ink-stained lips and teeth. Aglio Olio was a tad too salty. Oh the soup and grilled squid was PERFECT. You got to order those, guarantee no regrets!
